WHY BILL?

Great Question! I think there are a number of reasons, but underlying them all is my Character. Issues, problems and situations will come and go over the weeks, months and years of my term(s) on the board. What you are really voting for is the person you trust to do the right thing for our children in every circumstance. My entire adult life has been dedicated to enhancing and developing young people with the foundational character traits needed to be successful in life.

I am going to cast my normal “humble pie” to the side for a minute, because this decision is too important to not get it right. I am hopeful it will be the beginning of a transparent and improved KLSD.

If you really want to know about who I am and what I am all about, ask anyone who knows me or has ever worked with me.... anyone! I am confident you will get a good report. You’ll hear about integrity, work ethic, morals and values and an unwavering dedication to this community. They will tell you that I am a good communicator, an even better listener and I work very well with all types of personalities to gain consensus.

 

I have always been more of a doer than a talker. I am not afraid to jump into any situation If I believe I can add value. My life experiences and community involvement, on multiple levels, has made me uniquely qualified for this position. I have been on multiple Boards and I know I can make the KLSD School Board better. We need fresh ideas, a different perspective and a vocal proponent for positive change. I am that voice.

My appreciation for education and understanding of how schools operate is influenced by the educators in my family..... really good ones. My wife taught Middle School for 39 years in the Hendrick Hudson School District, my daughter is an Elementary School teacher in the Chappaqua Central School District, my father-in-law was a principal for over 20 years in the White Plains School District and I have coached and taught kids at every level in the Chappaqua and Katonah-Lewisboro School Districts for 40 years. You never say you have seen, heard and experienced it all.... but I am well prepared for what lies ahead.
